Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
The sub-zero heroes are back, on an incredible adventure... for the ages.
Times are changing for moody mammoth Manny, motor mouthed sloth Sid and crafty saber-toothed tiger Diego in this third installment of the beloved computer-animated children's franchise. Life heats up for our heroes when they meet some new and none-too-friendly neighbors: the mighty dinosaurs.
The gang (that I don't really feel any warmth or nostalgia for) re-unites to save Sid the Sloth from a big scary dinosaur, in this seriously patchy animated adventure. The first 15 is hilarious (particularly Scrat pulling at his skin, trying to fly) and the last 20 isn't bad, but the middle really drags, and Simon Pegg is surprisingly lacklustre in a showy part. He also says "butt", rather than "bum", twice, for which he should be thoroughly ashamed. Mark Kermode described this film as "the death of narrative cinema", which is clearly incorrect, as narrative cinema still exists – and anyway, did The Long Day Closes have a narrative? No it did not. That is a great argument, so…
"Why is it called the Chasm of Death?"
"We tried calling it the Big Smelly Crack but people kept giggling."
For those times when you just need to go Buck Wild try this.
For times when you feel the need to get Buck Naked look elsewhere you dirty perv!, this is a kids movie.
This was a lot better then the second one but still not brilliant
Simon Pegg's voiceover work is the single most enjoyable thing about this movie.
Simon Pegg is the only reason I'm gracing this with a rating.
Remember that needless melodrama, well it's back with a vengeance now with Manny being paranoid about being a father... ugh
The only redeeming factor is Scrat, but that does not save the movie
Very good film- there are some funny parts too.
The best of the series so far. It's one of the best movies of the 09' summer. It's hilarious, exciting and action-packed."
I got high and saw this in 3D on my 18th birthday. It was still mediocre.
