Directo a mis favoritas. De las mejores de los 90.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaa~aaaaaaaugh!
This movie made me feel feelings! Mostly anger!

A really intense drama -- it's been a while since a movie has made me feel as simultaneously anguished, enraged, and depressed as this one did. Gerry's story was crying out to be told and I'm glad it got such amazing service.

So well acted that I felt I was watching real people not actors playing them.
This story is an upsetting one. I've written about the legal system being manipulated or used to come to a judgement rather than to come to a truth. This case is a terrible example of people hiding facts to create a truth, perhaps so a country got a sense of closure. When challenged, the pride of one man not admitting a mistake overcame the compassion for a wrongfully detained family.
What is ironic is that by being detained, Gerry and Giuseppe are forced to spend time together. They are able to open up to one another, they are able to share memories and pain, Gerry…

Daniel Day-Lewis turns in another top-notch performance. I went into the film knowing nothing about it, and probably benefited from my ignorance. I found the story compelling and the film was overall quite good.

Actually this is not the first film to bring up the theme of injustice that happened to someone who has to suffer because of false accusations such as for example Road to Guantanamo. Daniel Day Lewis brilliantly plays an immature, ignorant young man from Belfast named Gerry Conlon whom along with his three friends were forced to sign a confession as members of the IRA responsible for a massive bombing in Guildford, Southwest of London a day before. Gerry and his three friends were then referred to as The Guildford Four and sent to prison for 15 years, where they experienced any kinds of physical and mental torture. Of all the three, Gerry was the only person who suffered most…

A great performance from Daniel Day-Lewis, and altough I haven´t seen Lincoln, I hope he does win the Oscar this year. He owns this movie but this film is also great because you feel sympathy for the main characters.

Daniel Day-Lewis put on another damn good performance, and the film showed us exactly what it set out to do. No complaints.

A powerful film that is sure to make the audience foam at the mouth for injustice. Daniel Day-Lewis's extraordinary skills are once again well utilized by Sheridan, and Pete Postlethwaite and Emma Thompson deliver graceful, nuanced performances as well.

Shocking true story of oppression of the truth and it's subsequent victory. The story starts of slowly but later you get sucked into it. Daniel Day Lewis and Pete Postlethwaite carry the film on their shoulders. A film like this, depicting a true life event, carries no entertainment value of any sort, but that is where the sterling performances keep you engaged the entire time. And this film does exactly that.

Daniel Day-Lewis. IS he the finest film actor Europe has ever produced?
This is a great film. An amazing film.
You will most likely hate every single British policeman after seeing this film.
As a man who has a great relationship with his father, this film affected me perhaps more than some. The idea of going to prison with your father sounds like the fodder for a comedy. In fact, it's one of the strongest aspects of this movie.
This is one of those non-fiction films that will make you want to seek out the real life stories.

"I'm goin' out the front door with Gerry!"
I wonder how much has been made up for dramatic purposes. Regardless, this is a great movie with an incredible ability not to diminish in quality or power on repeated viewing.
Day-Lewis and Postlethwaite are on top form as the wrongly imprisoned father and son. It's probably Jim Sheridan's most impressive work.

Solitt, välgjort (stundtals segt) drama om hur äcklig staten kan vara bara den får chansen. Daniel Day-Lewis gör i vanlig ordning en fantastisk prestation och uppträder här med ett relativt spännande hår.
