Do any of you guys have movies that you use as background noise?
Movies that you put on in the background while you are going about your business or doing work? You look up every once in a while to catch a piece of the action or the tail end of a joke. And when its done, you pop in another one.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back has been one of my most effective background noise movies since I was a teenager.
Roger Ebert always said that this was a film that is either made for you, or made specifically NOT for you. I always remembered those words when watching this film because the "Jerseyverse" that Kevin Smith created…

"Look at these morose motherfuckers right here..."
God damn, I love this fucking movie.
I know I may be alone on that statement but let me explain...
For one thing, it crosses over all of the characters from Kevin Smith's Jersey Trilogy so it's awesome to see all of my favorites like Banky, Brodie, Dante (he's not even supposed to be here today) and Hooper X all in one place. You've got to see all Smith's New Jersey films to appreciate this film, but it's still enjoyable. This was the first New Jersey film I ever saw growing up and it still manages to be funny as fuck time and time again. It's got one of the most awesome casts…

Sexually Frustrated Fifteen Year Old: The Movie
This one goes out to all you film school muthafuckas who dream of directing and may one day make it to 2nd AD to live out the rest of your sad little "what I really want to do is direct" lives doing all the sad little bitch work on set and never, ever, EVER getting to actually direct a movie. EVER.
Your fuckin' ass is gonna be wrangling extras and getting a nigga his coffee until the day you DIE, muthafucka.

This gets an extra 2 stars because 1) MONKEY and 2) Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are so good. also JAMES VAN DER BEEK. I dunno, the whole bit in Miramax studios was so cool! But then... it wasn't really a great film, it started off weak but got loads better.

Do you like juxtaposing really well written character voices (something Smith will always have a knack for) with a joke relating to one of the following: penises/butts/asses/homosexuality/ben affleck?
If so, this is the film for you.

What the fuck is the Internet?
Now this shit is funny. Hahaha. I think I'm old enough to finally appreciate and value Kevin Smith's humour, which is odd since most of it is dick and far jokes. I hated Superbad because it was 99% dick jokes, but I like this alot. Interesting.
The first time I saw this I was too young to understand most of it and this is my first rewatch since then. Everything is so much clearer--and funnier; an incredible amount of jokes and innuendoes had to have gone over my head back then. Luckily for me I watched Chasing Amy before this rewatch so I picked up on a number of little inside references--I counted at…

Was a little nervous about rewatching this film but it's still pretty funny. Glad this wasn't the final Jay and Silent Bob film though Clerks II was a more fitting ending.

I would say Kevin Smith through everything and the kitchen sink at the film...but that would imply that something funny actually snuck in there.

This movie feels like it's the Avengers of Kevin Smith films, Because every character from the old films reappeared and it made you really think that this universe in new jersey Kevin Smith created is real. It isn't as realistic as Clerks or as emotional as Chasing Amy but Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is definitely the funniest. However, it only just beats Mallrats... Snootchie Bootchies

I watched this religiously in middle school.
