The last couple of nights have been a write-off for films. Last night I watched Southland Tales and my laptop was lucky to survive it. Then I tried to watch Judgment Night but only got halfway through because I fell asleep. Then tonight I was going to watch The Squad, but the download wouldn't take, and then Netflix went down and scuppered my chances of watching The Horde.
On the plus side, though, I got to finish Judgment Night tonight. For anyone who, for some reason, has followed my reviews for a while now, you would probably know that I have a real affinity for early to mid 90s action thrillers. It was the time when I REALLY got into…

Emilio in the hood. This was better when I was 12.

This is probably the only film ever made with a soundtrack that's infinitely better than the film itself........

This tense thriller has a terrific setup, and the B-name cast works very well. Leary chews a lot of scenery. If it hadn't run out of steam (and stretched believability a bit too far a few times), this would have been a legitimately great movie. If not exactly that, it's nevertheless underrated and overlooked. A nice surprise.

Basically this film involves a lot of running more running and a little bit of more running with the occasional fight or "tense" bit. Not worth the effort.

Better than a film called Judgment Night would look.

An all star cast performs in this classic '90s thriller. Somewhat overacted and though the plot is improbable it does offer some entertainment value.
