Kissing on the Mouth
2005 Directed by Joe Swanberg
Synopsis
Raw. Honest. Naked. "Kissing on the Mouth" is post-college life in close-up. Ellen is sleeping with her ex-boyfriend while trying to ignore the fact that he's looking for more than just sex. Her roommate, Patrick, isn't helping matters with his secretive and jealous behavior. The small cast served as the only crew on this intimate and humorous film featuring real interviews with recent college graduates and a documentary approach to the graphic sex and conversations.

I have an admittedly limited amount of experience with the genre known as 'mumblcore', but this strikes me as by far the most 'mumblecore-y' of mumblecore movies, if only because of the facial hair. Seriously, the main guy in this movie has a goatee that practically screams, "Hey! I deserve to be punched the face as hard as possible!"
I had to watch this movie solely through my critical eye, because to anyone besides a pretentious, analytical film critic such as myself, this movie offers nothing of value (except a sizeable serving of sex and nudity, presented in a refreshingly matter-of-fact manner). Hell, it's barely even a movie in the first place.
The word I would use to describe this…

What. Shit.

The explicit sex doesn't make it any less tedious. Trust me. Endless college student talk about relationships, nothing insightful. A home-movie feel makes the sex scenes kind of creepy.
