Day 15, Film 15Country: Denmark
Time Period: present
Theme: childish friends will get you in trouble,
Style of Subtitle: Thick white font, lines to mark different speakers.
Funniest / Oddest Subtitle: any time schnozzle was on screen
What did I learn about the country: pancakes by the stack are no joke
Coincidental relation to last country I watched: The book club reads Heart of Darkness, centered about a Britsh sailor
I heard there's an American remake planned: Well, there actually is one planned...Two comedies in a row - lucky me. This movie is clearly inspired by Curb Your Enthusiasm, a show that I admire deeply. The characters get into uncomfortable situations, at times unaware…

Film #52 of The December Project
Klown is mean-spirited, stupid, obnoxious and absurdly offensive. There are some laugh out loud moments born of pure stupidity and gross-out humor. Frank and Casper are two HORRIBLE, disgusting, vapid, and despicable characters that almost had me under their spell. Surprisingly, that ridiculously vulgar ending actually pushed this over the top for me and I ended up changing my rating from what I thought would be a 1/1.5 to a neutral 2.5 because of how hard I laughed. I feel dirty and abused, but I can't deny that I got a small amount of enjoyment out of it.

"Fatherhood potential is here, tour de pussy is right here!"
Mikkel Norgaard 'Klown' is a dirty, uncomfortable road trip film. The characters are in the same universe of Jodi Hill, David Gordon Green and Ricky Gervais, Ass-holes with a big hearts.
The film starts a bit slow, but 15min in everything changes, the film get a momentum of complete horrible (but funny) situations that is hard not to laugh while watching Frank fucking up.
And the ending, is such a huge pay off..hahahahaha..
If you have watch it, watch it again, if you haven't watch it now!! -
Gloriously offensive Danish comedy that had me laughing loudly in between the moments my jaw was on the floor. Not had that since Borat I think.
A few similarities to Curb Your Enthusiasm in that we have a Larry David-esque protagonist (sometimes he even dresses like him) getting himself into unthinkable social holes. And an actual hole at one point. Just his finger mind. This film tops Curb for vulgarity and taboo however.
We are treated to a deluge of dick jokes along the way, many of which are highly inappropriate. Not for the easily offended but fullof laughs.

This should have been called The Incredibly Stupid Adventures of Demark's Stupidest Men, it had it's moments, but they were really dumb.

This was great , I laughed quite a bit
Not a " wrong place at the wrong time " more of a " doesn't know when to be at the right place and time with the right frame of mind and totally influenced by his dick hole friends "

I saw this solely because it's a Danish film :) [Well, these days I'm into Danish TV shows like Borgen.] But, umm… I guess it's not enough a motivation… Anyway, in general, the film is likeable, although the sense of humor here’s not my cub of tea. I can see some of my friends like this movie.

A near perfect comedy. Just as good on the second watch this is a movie that makes me roar with laughter from start to finish. Meticulous performances, hilarious editing techniques and an amazingly thought out script combine together to create one of my favorite movies of all time.
