The very first nightmare I ever had.
Sixty six freaking years and I finally find the source of the unnameable horror that haunted me for years... until sex, drugs and rock and roll soothed me.

It’s hilarious to think that they really made a movie where an actual building is walking (yes, WALKING) around doing the destroying.
But it’s also kinda boring and suffers from really annoying sound effects, like a lot of these early monster movies.
50s sci-fi movies almost always have a neglected setting and bland set of characters, living or dying off of how interesting the concept or unique looking the monster is. Kronos is no exception, but it has a cool enough monster and weird enough concept to live rather than die. The robot itself looks and sounds unlike anything else from this era.
17/40 Spring Challenge:
To quote Homer Simpson:
"Hahaha this is brilliant... I have absolutely no idea what's going on"
I found myself intrigued. It's suprisingly cerebral and quite ambitious in both what it's trying to depict and how it's attempting to present that. The whole possession subplot is pretty thought-provoking in itself and there's some oddly unsettling moments.
Now, granted I watched this early in the morning after only 3 hours of sleep... but the way this flick conveys information…
"Doctor, you yourself generated the heat of a dozen suns in a nuclear furnace on the other side of that wall. I tell you Kronos has plates more impervious still. Not only can he withstand any force we're able to throw against him, but he will actually absorb that energy. Become more powerful from it."
A real diamond in the rough.
A nice little America kaiju flick, would really enjoy a modern remake of it that expands on the ship’s rampage throughout the US and talk about how colonizers from another planet seek only research extraction.
These movies are usually entertaining even if goofy. This one was boring.
Monsters as Metaphors: Colossal Wonders #32
Movie Monsters: Kronos
Category: Kaiju Kingdom
Release Year: 1957
Could see this going up a rating after a rewatch because wow, giant alien robot things falls from the sky and starts sucking up all of our resources and no matter what we throw at it it just keeps on keeping on! This was a super creative take on the genre with one of my favorite ways of killing the monster I’ve seen yet! The effects are also fantastic as well, would love to see this get a fancy release sometime in the future
this movie is genuinely so boring, like turn off in the middle of watching boring
Buen sci-fi con acción, extraterrestres, monstruos gigantes y bombas atómicas. Caviar.
