One of the great romantic comedies of all time, up there with Annie Hall and Harold & Maude and How Harry met Sally.

This is just so much fun despite its flaws. I have retuned to this one a few times over the years and it always sucks me right in. Some things don't work (the music is atrocious) and theres some scenes that feel really out of place and belong in another movie - what was up with the scene where they are walking in slow motion to Enya and suddenly turn into younger versions of themselves?
Either way, this is a really entertaining and very funny Steve Martin movie. As a huge fan of his, this is no "The Jerk", "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels ", or even "Planes Trains and Automobiles" but it still definitely holds its own in the humor category. Also, its a pretty decent old fashioned love story. Still can't believe that's Sarah Jessica Parker playing his young girlfriend.

Ok. If someone would tell me this is not a great movie I wouldn't disagree with them wholeheartedly. It IS, however, one of my favorite comedies out there. Steve Martin is all of his ridiculous self here, and I'm right there with him. So leave me alone and let me enjoy the Enya sequences with baby deer, ok?

One of my all time favorite films. Much like Los Angeles itself, today the film is wonderfully outdated and yet remarkably relevant. And it is a 5 Star film if your from L.A - a valentine to your home.

Recently preceded the Ace of Base hit "I Saw the Sign"

A sometimes funny Martin ode to Los Angeles. Martin is so funny at times but the rest of the cast can’t keep up with him for comedic timing and that hurts the movie.

"If you want to see a film about a weatherman living a surreal life and falling in love watch Groundhog Day.... this film uses Shakespeare's works well though.... "A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing""

It's interesting to read reviews for this movie 20 years after it's release. I think most are missing the deep level of detail and care put into it. The zaniness and absurdity is controlled by intention. Subtle jokes and quips are riddled throughout the film's heavy load of eccentricity. This is a must see.
