Chock full of melodrama and enough plot points to fill an epic mini-series, Legend of the Fall is solid afternoon entertainment, but not much more.

Brad Pitt Full of Angst
I had never seen this movie, but my sister sure had quite the crush on Brad back in '94 after this. And why wouldn't she: he's sad and has long hair for two hours. Two hours that seem like three. But despite it being over long and over dramatic, you do feel a bond with the family by the time the climax comes. Like my sister, I too have an admiration for Brad Pitt, but I prefer his later roles when he has fully come into his own as an actor.

this movie is a classic and one of my favorite movies has a strong message about a bond of brothers that can never be broken

Good ol' fashioned Hollywood melodrama through the lens of one of its modern masters, Edward Zwick. Pitt hadn't quite gotten to the point (in age or acting experience) where he was really able to pull off a role like Tristan 100% when the movie was made though, but he's game to try and WOW does that earn this thing a lot of leeway from me. The rest of the cast is pretty great too, as is the music. Everything together comes off almost like a "Nicholas Sparks story...FOR GUYS" - in a good way.

Epicness.

After being sledgehammered with plot points > character, I became numb. Still very pretty looking travelogue, but Anthony Hopkins really gets sidelined. He's good when utilized here.

Classic as always

This is one of those timeless classics, mainly because it was set in the past. We all know those period pieces great things seem to happen in them and the movie delivers on that subject. The movie to see Brad Pitt scalp some Nazis way before Inglourious Basterds.
