One of the great ones, no two ways about it. Here we see Bugs at probably his most patient but also his most vindictive. One feeds the other. I forgot how many times be allows that huge opera man to brutalize him. It almost feels like he'll never snap. But by the time everybody's gasping and saying "Leopold!" you realize just how seriously Bugs meant it when he said that this means war. I will say this for Bugs, The Tormentor of Bullies: I get it. He will always be first and foremost a stinker in my heart but if you need a guy to put a huge jerk in his place I don't know that cinema has ever given…
The most unrealistic part of this cartoon is the reliability of the postal service.
I say this completely without exaggeration or irony: this dumb little Bugs Bunny cartoon is one of the greatest pieces of art ever assembled by human hands
The opera guy singing "What do they do in Mississippi/when skies are drippy" is forever burned into my brain.
Bugs has the energy of that elephant who showed up to a women's funeral to kill her a second time
Wouldn't it have been the mature thing to do to talk this problem out like men? Well, no.. this is Looney Tunes where conflicts can only be settled with war. And boy is it fun!
A nice little war film, bugs really knows how to get revenge, a cool cartoon about musical freedom.
