Surprisingly compelling Haunted House/Possession tale.
Is Molly insane, a druggy or is she telling the truth?Starts slowly, showing Mollys gradual decline and builds into a nicely dark climax.
A lot of the story is shown through Mollys videocamera, at first whilst she is trying to prove things are happening to her and then later, more to fill us in on the things she has been getting up to. With the videos seeming more like trophies as we get towards the end.
Good performances from the 2 sisters with some pretty uncomfortable to watch scenes and the soundtrack adds to the tense atmosphere. Especially played loud!
Doesn't fully explain some things either (at least, I missed the Horse thing being explained) to leave you asking questions at the end too. Which in this case is a good thing.

I was pleasantly surprised by this film.
It takes a bit of a twist on the haunted house story in that it takes 'the past comes back to haunt you' quite literally. Throughout the film we reside in ambiguity around Molly. Is she insane? Or is she truly haunted by the ghost of her dead father? This ambiguity is resolved and I liked what it did, not because it was extremely surprising but because it was satisfying.
It is a creepy and tense film that is somewhat hindered by some dull patches and superfluous character exposition. The build up pays off though as the final act is absolutely fantastic, with some creepy nastiness I enjoyed quite a bit.
This is solid, well acted film. More creepy than scary, but definitely intriguing enough to check out.

Thriller/Horror
Surprisingly awesome, I wasn't expecting much just figured it would be a flop. Insted it was somewhat original a little scary with a good amount of suspense. Lovely Molly is about a girl who has some issues and something evil is going on. When I was little I was always afraid that Jason from Friday the 13th was going to jump out of the dark door way to the basement. If you can relate to something like that then this will be nice and tense for you. A few scenes may be a little disturbing and the musical score definitely helps, or should I say lack of. There are moments where the is no music just the sounds of…

"Lovely Molly" chugs along as an average, descent-into-madness horror flick for much of its running time. The film unfolds with a serious tone and polished-for-such-a-low-budget production values, but does nothing to separate itself from the pack of horror cheapies that find a home on Netflix after skipping wide theatrical releases.
The film's fortunes change for the better as director Eduardo Sanchez slowly begins to amp up the film's tension and dig into the mythology underscoring the narrative. Here, "Lovely Molly" develops into a stronger film: compelling, disturbing, and scary. It may take time to get there, but the film is a satisfying experiece that may remain with its audience long after the credits have rolled.

An effective, tension filled haunted house film with nice twists and turns. Gretchen Lodge anchored everything playing the tortured Molly. I can't tell you enough how brilliant her performance was. This film will get under your skin and stay there for awhile.

I haven't seen anything from Eduardo Sánchez since The Blair Witch Project so when I saw this on Netflix I decided to give it a go and I did like a lot of this. It has a nice creepy vibe and enough wtf moments to make me dig this. I thought it was going the dreadful Silent House route, and it almost does, but it did have enough cool shit to make this better than your average " bitches be crazy" film.

I'm not really sure if I completely grasped the point of this film, yet somehow it still seemed predictable?
On the plus side- the acting was surprisingly decent, the score was tense, and the atmosphere is a little creepy at times. -
This review reportedly contains spoilers. I can handle the truth.

A good ghost film with overtones of demon possession, which manages to stay creepy and avoid the bland generic features by never showing the ghost.

Firstly Lovely Molly is a first rate attempt at bringing the horrors of traumatic events into a mainstream audience but using the themes used often in regular chillers and for the most part avoids the usual tropes set by some of its predecessors that go in for this creepy atmospheric stuff. Paranormal Activity this is not, even if the trailer is slightly misleading. It is a beguiling often disturbing film that has a rather brilliant central performance.
The movie, a little like the recent Berbarian Sound Studio, focuses on the atmosphere and in particular the use of sounds and interesting audio assisted along the way by a foreboding score by the prog rock band Tortoise. These sound effects often become… -
Pretty good and disturbing movie about child abuse and possession and adultery. Showed how drugs can fuck people up and child abuse messes them up for life. Sort of disturbing and graphic and the characters kind of sucked a lot, but one scene in this ruled. Really freaky stuff. Love that image, worth the watch

This movie was okay. It's different than most things out there. It had excessive nudity and other viseral things.

This started soo good! It began with a creepy, mysterious and very interesting story. But, It took a strange turn toward the end that just made absolutely no sense and was never explained. Horse heads? Dead deers? a missing little girl? A horny preacher? What did it all mean?? I wanted it all to make sense and come together in some mind blowing twist, but it just never did. It just kept unraveling with more and more unanswered questions. So, If your just looking to jump a few times and get very creeped out then this will be perfect. But, if your looking to jump a few times, get creeped out and experience a well told ghost story with a memorable climax, this isn't the one. I would still say this is worth a watch for the the first 50 minutes alone, any more than that may cause disappointment and confusion.
