Mannequin
1987 Directed by Michael Gottlieb
Synopsis
Just because Jonathan's fallen in love with a piece of wood, it doesn't make him a dummy.
A charming romantic comedy starring Andrew McCarthy (Pretty in Pink), Kim Cattrall ("Sex and the City"), Meshach Taylor ("Designing Women"), Estelle Getty ("The Golden Girls") and James Spader (Stargate), Mannequin is more than the sum of its fiberglass body parts… it's all heart!

The rating I've given is a reflection of how much I enjoy this film, but not necessarily of it's quality.
I have fond memories of watching Mannequin over and over when I was a kid, and I still enjoy the film just as much now as I did back then.
Mannequin features Kim Cattrall at her cutest and sexiest, and Andrew McCarthy at pretty much the peak of his stardom.
I'm a sucker for love stories and 80s films so it's no surprise Mannequin is a favourite of mine.

Fun and cheesy romantic comedy with big Eighties hair and fashions, it is a light and fluffy and I am sure it fuelled a few male fantasies at the time.
Worth the time to watch as it has G. W. Bailey playing an incompetent security guard so what is not to like about that.

Back then, όταν η Kim Cattrall ήταν πραγματικά hot.
(Πήγα να γράψω και για τον James Spader, αλλά αυτός ακόμα hot είναι.) -
I wish I could build my own true love. It would make life a whole lot easier.

Absolutely love this film. A very 80s rom-com that is a lot of fun. Much prefer Andrew McCarthy here than I do in Pretty In Pink, and also a brilliant performance from Kim Cattrall that sees her as an actress away from her Sex And The City stereotype. So much to enjoy about this film.

A childhood classic - being a window dresser was my dream job when I was a little kid!

Another 80's classic. I think the chemistry between McCarthy and Cattrall is great, and Taylor and Bailey are a lot of fun as the supporting cast. It starts off really cheesy with the broken store sign, but give it a chance.
And the music is good too. The Starship theme may be my favorite song for a movie ever!!!

A light-hearted and enjoyable romantic comedy about a guy who falls for a princess who time travels to become a mannequin who comes to life to help him save a mall.

I'm pretty sure I've watched this film at least 50 times when I was a kid - I loved it that much.
It must have been ten years ago that I watched it for the last time, but I still knew all the dialogue and the silly little jokes by heart. Of course I also sang along to the 80's soundtrack...
Guess I still love it after all these years, haha.
