Guess we know a couple of the cast from the upcoming Avengers 2.

It's not gonna change the world, but it's fun and hits the exact right tone for a small Shield story. And it's directed by the Co-President of Marvel Studios! When one of the bossmen has their finger on what makes these films great, and can condense it to a 12 minute short, it really helps keep the faith that the Marvel films will continue to be awesome.

I really really hope to see Jesse Bradford, Lizzy Caplan and the Man in Black in one of the films set in Phase Two. I mean with the way this ends..

When even the little short entries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe are an absolute blast, you know they have their shit figured out.

Nice one-shot, reminded me a lot of the comic books, where those random stuff happens all the time. They should do more of these, for us, comic book fans.

Really cool little one shot Marvel made as a follow-up/tie-in to the end of The Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D.
This was a really interesting idea and it'll be cool if the upcoming TV series is along the same lines as this.

This short could have been part of the pilot for the SHIELD tv show that comes on next fall.

Part of the:
Ultimate Marvel Movie Marathon
A fun short story on The Avengers Blu Ray special features which will probably form the foundations of how the S.H.I.E.L.D TV Show will work.
This short is definitely Marvel, definitely comic book and suitably light in tone, and it's also successful in contributing to the Marvel Universe without needing any of the Superheros on screen. The plot is a great concept set against the fallout of the alien invasion on New York. Think Tarantino meets Whedon.
Recommended?: It doesn't add much in its 11 minute run time, but it does serve as a good introduction to more characters which can be re-used in future Marvel adventures as well as testing the waters of small screen Marvel adventures.

Well... this exists.
Did we really need a full 12-minute short to explain what could've been summed up in two lines of dialogue on ANY of the phase two movies?

Lizzy caplan is always welcome, Titus Welliver isn't in my top 10 deadwood guys but is still always welcome and it feels like its set in the Marvel universe. It feels like one of those 5 page stories Marvel would pad annuals out with in the early 90s where just not seeming to be out of character was probably enough to pass the time but you werent going to get much more.

A little funny. Hopefully it leads to more of Caplan!

These One-Shots are pretty good. But you know what's missing from this one, right? Yeah, Coulson... :(

Well I finally caved and ordered the US Avengers Bluray, sadly my principles just were no match for my need for a copy of Joss Whedon's commentary that doesn't require constant pausing to get it in sync.
I put the disc on just to check out what extras were on there and Boom! There I go getting all excited because this short was a real fun idea and gave me high hopes of Lizzy Caplan turning up in the S.H.I.E.L.D TV show.
Sadly it looks like that isn't happening but that doesn't remove from this being a fun little one-shot - it doesn't reach the levels of the Coulson based ones (which are just perfect in my eyes) but it's a nice idea and manages to keep the tone established by previous Marvel one-shots.
