I remember thinking: 'It can't be that bad, can it?'
.....This film nearly made me lose my firm atheistic beliefs. There must be a God because this film was clearly made by the devil, sent to earth to torment poor, innocent souls.
It's that bad. Really.

It was alright.

So Eddie Murphy in Eddie Murphy one of the silly comedies that Murphy did while doing what is essentially family comedy. This starts off very hard and I was quite close to switching it off, it get's a bit better really when you understand this is very lite sci-fi comedy and is for the younger kids. Some funny jokes got a giggle but not really worth the effort.

This film is full of simpletons reacting to Eddie Murphy's Dave in a way that no real life person would ever react. Especially the mother.

It's stupid and silly and all that other stuff. I've seen this movie countless times and I can't really defend it but ever since I was very young I've enjoyed this sci-fi concept of miniature people inside of the human body making it function; and this one just appeals to that inner child of mine.
I too shake my sadly every time I think about what happened to Eddie Murphy's career and perhaps part of me desperately wanted this to be good too.

A Thouasand Words better than A Thousand Words.

If you see Dave, run in the opposite direction.

You’ve got to laugh at Eddie Murphy. Not at his movies, the guy himself. He’s like the filmic equivalent of Axl Rose – an irrelevant, egotistical relic of yesteryear convinced of his own starpower even though it fizzled out decades ago. It’s obvious he can be sold on a script just by some pandering suit saying “but Ed, you play more than one character!”, because as evidenced by the last ten years’ output nothing gets Murphy signing on the dotted line quicker than the chance to get latex glued to his ass and play a fat chick. Not that he does either of those here, but you know what I mean. However he does play a human sized spaceship/robot wandering…
