A film with so much pizazz, it made my head hurt, but it's all good fun, and I do not regret seeing it. It's not particularly memorable, but has great cast (I honestly could spend days on end just watching at Mark Strong and/or Lee Pace) and touches upon some quite serious issues, though only fleetingly. Good entertainment that reminded me of 'Easy Virtue' due to its sense of style.

Represents the perfect spring release film: Not too great, but not crap like the rest. It's the acting that stands out as McDormand again is fantastic, delivering not necessarily a knock-out performance, but a nuanced one she seems to be known for time and time again. Adams is, also, very good, but I can't help but think that she's starting use one basic outline for her characters. Still, she does a great job of making this character likable, which any other young actress would've made her a complete narcissus and completely unlikable.
Everything else holds its weight. The script is crisp, but lightweight, not a whole lot to grab on to. The direction is nice; it never lets you get… -
Maybe a bit girly, but whatever. Great performances from Frances McDormand and Amy Adams, as always. My love for Amy Adams only intensifies upon seeing this. She was just so charming in this.

An adorable confection of a movie that is the perfect set piece for an actress like Amy Adams. It's a fairy tale that's rooted in reality with art deco production design that is candy for the eye. Also, Lee Pace = sexy.

Won't change your life, but it's adorable and comes with the added bonus of Lee Pace playing piano. SOLD.

Amy Adams really holds this film together. And with even more recognizable actors than the first time I saw it, it was a nice little treat.

This movie is most remarkable in its uniqueness, and its uniqueness can be accredited to its production having been delayed some 70 years. McDormand is one of our finest actresses, though she's in the role that would normally go to Amy Adams - that of a Ms. Do Right - so it made for an interesting watch. All the while I felt like Adams' character wanted to behave. She can't really sell ambitious.

Watched this at my wife's request, kicking and screaming. But it's a surprisingly effervescent, funny little screwball comedy that recalls something out of the 1940s. Amy Adams is energetic and funny as a ditsy actress on the verge of being caught in numerous affairs, and Frances McDormand brings more heart to the role than I expected. A weightless little movie, but charming and funny.

Humorous movie. Everyone does a great job in their roles.

Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day is far from being a masterpiece of cinema. All the same, it's a sweet, pleasant, and light-hearted romantic comedy well worth watching, highly evocative of the time and rich in period detail, whilst featuring typically excellent performances from Amy Adams and Frances McDormand. Not for everyone, but I'd say to give it a chance.
