Good performance from Brooks and a great performance from Reynolds make for a possibly more heartfelt film than most of Brooks' earlier work. But that "Mrs. Robinson" parody song could have been left out.

Classic Brooks. Some great moments, but doesn't reach the highs of MR and Lost in America.

Sadly underrated on release, this unsentimental movie brilliantly depicts a woman's frustration, caused by motherhood, and the obliviousness of her perpetually annoyed son. But, you know, with jokes. Brooks is one of the most perceptive filmmakers of our time; there are moments here that made me yelp with recognition.
