From the US, Rom/Com about 2 people living with Asperger's syndrome.
I enjoyed this, a little, and would have scored it a point higher but for the extremely annoyingly and MUSHY soundtrack carrying the entire film.
I expected much, much better to be honest considering the film was put together by Elling director Petter Næss.
For any LetterboxD's out there keen on watching an Asperger's syndrome Rom/Com try Simple Simon (I rymden finns inga känslor) It's infinitely better.

In many books and movies dealing with autism and Asperger's, a related disorder, a scene is added where a person, generally a psychiatrist, explains the situation to another character.
This is most likely not added to aid character or plot development. Probably this part is there to help people who are not in the know about it, in other words, people who don't get what these conditions are, so they'll understand the story better.
In Mozart and the Whale, the main character, Donald (Josh Hartnett), pauses in the beginning to talk about life with Asperger's. One might think these would be interesting, and a good departure from the "shrink explains" cliche, but actually it becomes rather irksome.
Judging from this…

if you've ever had the feeling you're an outsider or you don't fit anywhere or you have sometimes the feeling you're an alien who doesn't know where it belongs - "mozart and the whale" is the perfect movie for you. the quirky, wonderful and sweet movie is about two autists with asperger syndrome who met at a self-helf support group and fall in love. the actors josh hartnett and radha mitchell are amazing (i would say this is hartnett's best performance) and the soundtrack is great.

Misleading title.
I was hoping for a film where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart forms a friendship or even a rivalry with a giant talking whale.
This is still pretty good though.
