    Though larger than its predecessor, it's noticeably weaker. There's a whole conspiracy angle that doesn't go anywhere. It's left behind when the film decides to go ahead and repeat NATIONAL TREASURE again almost beat-by-beat.

    This is a sequel that is the same as the original but a totally different film, I am totally unsure how I feel about these films. They are great fun and enjoyable action adventures, there is the issue that the first film has an ending that the start of the second has to destroy to allow the story to progress and it always annoys me as I like people to be happy.

    Some great action and superb pace and an interesting story with the same gang as the first but it doesn’t reach the same level as the first of getting the watcher to care about the quest. Mirren is a welcome addition and does fantastic work here opposite Voight.

    Essentially the same film as National Treasure. Same characters, same ideas, same action, same everything, except with the addition of a villain whose inconsistent motivations appear to make no sense. At least Sean Bean's baddie in the first film was just after the money. Ed Harris' character here? I have no idea.
