North to Alaska
Big Sam and the Big Adventure!
Sam and George strike gold in Alaska. George sends Sam to Seattle to bring George's fiancé back to Alaska. Sam finds she is already married, and returns instead with Angel. Sam, after trying to get George and Angel together, finally romances Angel, who, in the meantime, is busy fighting off the advances of George's younger brother, Billy.
Doesn't seem very accurate to the time or setting, but not many mid-century westerns are.
It's a Western-Comedy I suppose but not overly funny. It probably wasn't supposed to be but it has funny moments. It's is entertaining, even if a bit slow. It's nice to see the softer side of the Duke.
Fabian isn't very good but the lady is great. She's so glamorous it hurts. I like the scenery and some of the set pieces. The big picnic scene is really a nice bit to watch.
