Our Family Wedding is ostensibly a culture clash comedy as a Latina (a post Ugly Betty America Ferrera) prepares to marry (and presumably have deliciously caramel mocha babies with) A Black Man (because clearly such an unholy and unnatural pairing would provoke Sodom & Gomorrah levels of wrath from on high). Instead it's actually a cringingly duff movie whose Latino vs Black humour is no doubt cynically targeted at (and unwittingly offensive to) both those demographics. It's also badly judged, running the gamut from toe curling to downright crass - I'm ignoring the inexcusably racist.
That said, when it works at all (a vanishingly rare feat) it works best when focussing on the relationships, particularly between the parents. Painful, pointless, largely…
