If you ever wanted to watch an average movie with an avarage subject about an average american, whose average job gets outsourced to an average indian call center company, where he lead indian employees while falling in love with one employee, an average indish girl, where the story starts to put the average skin-deep 'outsourcing'-subject to the background and develops a ridiculous average romantic story between two average lovers from different cultures while presenting average stereo-typical humor, the average 'everybody is happy'-mood put to the averagest indian pop-music you could imagine, then you will absolutely love this film.

I watched the TV series that was based off this film as it aired and was sad when it was canceled. I really liked the series. You could tell the series was strongly based off all the characters and plots...the tv show just did it much better. If you have two hours watch the movie, if you have time for 22 episodes watch the tv show.

Outsourced is a movie which can be very funny in parts and is absolutely recommendable for families. While the plot might be very predictable, the actors do a surprisingly good job. On a positive note, the movie also deals with a very serious topic in a fun way.

Or as in portuguese, "Sent down to India"
Just had to watch this movie for an essay about organizational behavior. I should be writing the essay by now, but I have better stuff to do, like write a review about it here.
It's a nice story about work and cultural differences, with a background love story we call here in Brazil a "water with suggar" story. It has some really funny scenes, but it's definitly not my kind of movie. -
Super cute fish out of water story that is so much better than the NBC sitcom that was based on it.

Outsourced (2006)

CWatched for work. Exactly the sort of film you'd expect would inspire a reviled, short-lived NBC sitcom.

Fish out of water goes to India to start up a call center, falls in love takes a look at his life. Its a bit like that scene in Pretty woman where Richard Gere's character takes off his shoes and walks on the grass.

Not a bad story, but comedy it is not.
I think what it comes down to is which genre is least wrong. It's not action, adventure or drama. Despite a minor romantic subplot, it's not a rom-com. The material is not a family movie.
My gut feeling is that it's more "journey" or "coming of age", but they're not really industry standard genres, so comedy it is.
Some laughs, but it's not really funny. There are some really touching moments during the character development, and it was nice to see the varied socio economic nature of the people in the town.
I'd watch it again.
