29th film of The December Project
Richard Gere is creepy. Seriously. You can feel his eyes stare deep into your soul, like a pre-vampire Edward Cullen. He watches Roberts when she baths, when she watches television, when she eats, sleeps, etc. It's creepy. He's creepy. I definitely get why Edward Cullen is the dream-man of so many women after this.
After their first night together, however, he gets pretty likeable. And dammit if this ain't a sweet story. I can easily understand why it's ranked as one of the best rom-coms ever; Julia Roberts shine and Richard Gere isn't too bad either.
All in all a nice film. Much better than Gary Marshall's later additions, i.e. Raising Helen. This is a fine film to get the previous one out of my system.

One of my favourite rom-com's, and one that will never grow old. Julia Roberts fits the role amazingly and this is one of very few roles where I find myself really enjoying her character. It's sexy at times, and not exactly romantic in relation to the premise but it's a brilliant romance story nonetheless. The soundtrack is great too, making this is a perfect girly film.

The endless list of ex wives and girlfriends pay testament to the fact that Edward Lewis (Richard Gere) is very much all business. Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts) is quite the opposite, having followed "bum number 3" to Hollywood, she has become a "fly by the seat of my pants" girl working the streets.
A chance meeting between the two starts an unlikely business relationship, with Edward hiring Vivian for the week to avoid "romantic hassles" while in town on business.
This is often described as the ultimate romantic comedy, and it does not disappoint. Vivian's rendition of Prince's "Kiss" is unforgetable, along with the scenes with the escargot ("slippery little suckers") and the opera glasses.
I have to say that…

Otro clásico que todos hemos visto mil veces (aunque sólo sea por las veces que la echan en la tele al año)

To be honest: I've never seen it before. Keeping in mind that it's nearly a quarter of a century old... it holds up pretty good. Funny and emotional with believable characters.

It was the most adorable film I have ever watched in some time. It gave me so many feelings I was glad to be watching it with mah gurl, Poppy J. Man I loved the script-writing, it was so sharp and smooth and perfect.

Un clásico y el papel por el que siempre recordare a Julia Roberts. En estos tiempos la llaman una historia cliché, pero para mi siempre sera única. Tiene ese algo que destaca. Me encanta.
