Good harmless fun in the shape of a sweet and slightly unconventional rom com. Uma is quite fitting in this.

Admittedly watched this because I thought it was going to be some feel-good Streep jam. It was more of an indie, with a lead man I didn't really respond to. I thought it veered close to some nice observations about relationships, and I appreciated the lack of a cheap let's-stay-together ending. Ultimately it was pretty milquetoast though.

Mir persönlich hat “Couchgeflüster” trotz seiner recht einfachen und dank des Trailers extrem vorhersehbaren Story gefallen. Uma Thurman ist und bleibt eine verdammt süße Schauspielerin und überzeugt auch in Ihrer Rolle als geschiedene Ehefrau mit Kinderwunsch, Meryl Streep ist sowieso eine Bank und der junge Bryan Greenberg überzeugt ebenfalls. Die Wortwitze überzeugen fast durchgängig, es gibt keinen niederen Fäkalhumor und übertrieben schnulzig ist der Film auch nicht. Alles in allem wurde hier von Regisseur und Drehbuchautor Ben Younger aus meiner Sicht eine solide romantische Komödie geschaffen, die durchaus das Potential hat sowohl die jüngere als auch die ältere Generation und auch Männlein und Weiblein zu begeistern.

In meinen Augen flacht “Couchgeflüster” in der zweiten Hälfte zwar ein wenig ab, da nach dem auflösen des zweiten Problems ein wenig der Pfeffer in der Story fehlt unterhaltsam bleibt es aber allemal.

I am never going to watch this movie again. It's not that it was a bad movie, just that I watched it with a bad person.
