Goldie Hawn is a pleasure to watch throughout the picture. However, the final act takes a bit of a nose dive. Rather than stay focused on Benjamin's development in the Army or conflicts she has faced throughout the picture it swings in a wildly different direction. Even the ending feels a bit like a whimper than a bang. Too bad.

I am not really from Goldie Hawn’s golden era, for me she is just a good looking 40 year old that took too much up her ass and snored to much coke…with her child going exactly in the same direction. Anyway this movie here actually managed to get nominated for three Oscars…best screenplay and best actress? How? Was she sucking the whole academy at the time?
But lets go to movie it self where Goldie is a depressed rich housewife that decides to join the army (which consists mostly in ass slapping and pillow fights). So eventually she gets to be the best recruit of all time and is sent to a base in Belgium where she meets a nice French gentleman…bla bla bla.
Its not really bad…just forgottable…. -
This review reportedly contains spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I might be in the minority on this, but Goldie Hawn is one of my favorite actresses. In fact, she's probably my favorite actress. I absolutely love her to death and there is no one who can convince me otherwise. That's why I'm surprised I've never seen this film, where many people say she gives her best performance. Even if this is one of her better performances, it's far from one of her better films.
Goldie Hawn is wonderful as always. She's charming as always, but brings enough meat to her performance that you can tell this might be her best performance, even if the film itself is somthing that is more to be desired. So much could have been…

One movie that should not have been made, and unfortunately Goldie Hawn does not die in the end.

Goldie Hawn is the recruit in this enjoyable comedy.
