More-
Townsend is better at being Lestat than Tom Cruise was, but this whole movie is so silly and tries too hard to pander to fans of "The Crow" and weird gothy nu metal and stuff.
Aaliyah fucking rules, though. Her scene in the vampire bar is pretty cool.

There are better things to do with your 101 minutes.
-
Bad vampire movie. Boring characters that are easily forgettable. The plot is thin at best. Some of the kill scenes were okay for generic vampire death scenes. This was an obvious attempt to cash in on the success of Blade and Underworld. This is a weak vampire film. Not worth watching.

I saw this movie for free. Too expensive.

It was shit. Plain and simple. The book was amazing, the movie only dealt with the main plot of the book... and it did it poorly. Stuart Townsend was an alright Lestat though.

Interesting concept, bad execution. And why does the main actor remind me of Keira Knightley???? Creepy...

What is the point to this movie. Pretty silly and no real explanation for what L is trying to do. I knew it would not be very good and it was proved after three minutes into the film.

This is the other vampire movie based off of Anne Rice's novels The Vampire Chronicles to also feature The Vampire Lestat. Unfortunately this movie is not even in the same league as Interview with the Vampire. The same holds true for Stuart Townsend who isn't even the shadow of Tom Cruise's fantastic Lestat. The only bit that made this somewhat watchable were the fantastic tunes from Jonathan Davis.

A sad, sad thing for Aaliyah to be posthumously remembered this way.

funny in its way.
