As a huge wrestling fan, i absolutely loved this film, but this is probably the only reason i found it even remotely funny. It is a send up of the entire wrestling profession, a light hearted examination of how matches are fixed and storylines are created. Never taking itself seriously, the film features actual professional wrestlers as themselves in a 'fallen hero reclaims his title' tale. The humour is particularly lowbrow and the story is certainly chock full of cheese so as an avid moviegoer it is obvious to me that this film is complete trash, but for someone who grew up watching wrestling, what a great pile of fun gimmicky campy trash it is.

Do I need to tell anyone how big a pile of shit this film was? I hope not because this is one of those films that's so bad it makes you physically ill.

You have to be a drunken stupid idiot wrestling fan to watch this all the way through and even then you'll regret it.

Everything about this film was bad, the whole premise of the film was awful from the start though.

God, I loved this movie when I was a kid. This came out pretty much right after I got into wrestling, and I thought it was just the best thing ever. Watching it now, I can see how hideous most of the humor is and how bad some of the cast is(Arquette and Caan are just awful), but I still have a soft spot for it. There's some genuine charm to this, spotting all the wrestlers is still fun to do, and I love the climax inside the triple cage. Plus, it's got GOLDBERG in it. Goldberg is the man.

Nowhere near as bad as its reputation, this film still alternates between awful and tolerable with a few fleeting moments of true hilarity. I kinda like David Arquette but I can see people being absolutely annoyed by him and his out-of-control performance here. Scott Caan is just white skin floating in the air as far as I'm concerned. Oliver Platt is so miscast here it's almost genius.

Comedy about two guys trying to help their wrestling hero regain his world title. Okay, I guess, but kind of light on the laughs.

Corny for sure but has a subtle charm and gets better the second viewings. Lots of wrestlers in it too for fans of that. The cast is a lot of fun, especially the three leads.

I know this is not a very good film. In filmwise terms, I would give that 1.5 stars. But, being a large wrestling fan, this entertained me, so I'm giving it 3.5 stars. It was a pretty awful film to be honest, a few funny gags however are present.

Truly one of the worst films ever as it is about a couple of idiots who decide to get their favorite wrestler back in the game so he can win back his WCW world title at a triple cage match. This film would eventually play part to the death of World Championship Wrestling by making David Arquette the WCW world champ for a while. Thanks a lot Vince Russo you guinea fuck!

I'm a huge wrestling fan so at the height of the bug wrestling boom in the late 1990's there were few things I was more excited about then Ready To Rumble, the big wrestling movie from the fine folks at WCW starring David Arquette, Oliver Platt and most importantly to me a huge load of WCW wrestlers with Diamond Dallas Page as the movies top villain!
Holy crap was this movie ever a disappointment which taught me once again that pretty much any endeavor by a wrestling company outside of wrestling is usually pretty awful and Ready to Rumble is one of the best examples of that.
Pretty much everything about this movie is terrible. The acting is bad by…
