The resident evil was love.

What the fuck was that?
-MattThis is the historic film that not only brought Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich together, but it's also when the director started using the initials "W.S.". I've always assumed that it was Paul Thomas Anderson that politely asked him to do that just to further distinguish them apart in case the lack of talent on one of their parts wasn't enough.
I actually enjoy this film a great deal. I'm a fan of Jovovich and think she usually gives a great performance even when she's in garbage. It also marks the early years of Michelle Rodriguez's typecasting as a member of SWAT, police officer or military personnel. I swore to no longer complain…

The first 40 minutes is unforgivably slow and boring, but once the zombies come into play it starts to lighten up a little. A very bland but watchable zombie film.

For an action/horror movie based off of a video game series, Resident Evil seems to defy the odds stacked up against it. I genuinely enjoy this movie not only as a guilty pleasure, but just as a zombie movie in general.
Resident Evil does a really good job of establishing a confined space that allows for a diverse set of environments yet still making the characters feel like they are trapped. Also, I cannot recall another serious zombie film that has been made semi recently that features slow walkers. De mis sagas favoritas, no importa lo mal que hayan sido las últimas dos entregas, seguiré yendo a verlas no matter what.

This was ok. Decent concept but some poor effects and not very well put together.

Well this film stayed really truthful to the original source material. A mindless shooting video game adapted into a mindless film. Except here, we don't get to play it, we get to watch it. And it is pretty hard to endure. But I have the will power to put myself through anything to watch the sexy Milla Jovovich Kick some Zombi ass.

I have never played a Resident Evil video game so cannot comment on how faithful this is to the source material which inspired it.
I have however seen a few movies and can say that Resident Evil whilst having many flaws is compelling enough to warrant a watch.

+1 for Michelle Rodriguez, -1 for Michelle Rodriguez as a zombie.
+1 for vicious dogs, -1 for vicious zombie dogs.
+1 for the idea, -1 for it's execution. The ending is the strongest part in what is for a huge part painful rubbish to watch.
