It's really hard to dislike this film. Sure it's a pale imitation of its predecessor, corny, and cheesy, and full of silly humor that ensures the film will not provide a single genuine scare, but it's saving grace is that it knows exactly what it is. The horror comedy is very difficult to do correctly, a film needs to choose one or the other and stick to it as its primary genre. Most films fail to do this, and as such are wildly uneven at best. RotLDP2 is a comedy through and through, but one that just happens to be about zombies coming back from the dead, and hungry for braaaaaaaaains.
James Karen and Thom Matthews return, in a nod…

Not as good as the first, but still really fun.

Beware of the DVD release of Return of the Living Dead Part II. They've replaced the entire original score (which was great) and many of the pop/rock music cues. It's pretty horrible. To add insult to injury, the French language track on the disc contains all of the original music. Ouch. This also happened with Return of the Living Dead part one, where a couple of songs were replaced and some of the zombie voices. Lame.

I will say one thing about this movie. The cover looks freaking awesome. It also looked awesome when Fright Night did it 3 years before but still it looks cool. This movie feels like The Gate or a long episode of Goosebumps or Are you afraid of the Dark? Unfortunately it was just okay. Nothing special, but watchable. The two girls in this movie are annoying as hell. The older sister is a jerk and the other one is just a dumb ass. It was cool and kinda funny seeing two of the cast back from the original as different characters. This movie isn't anything special but if your bored you could do worse. Just barley worth a watch.

I feel bad knocking this movie because I spent most of it's running time on my phone. The problem is, every time I looked up at the screen, the movie seemed to push my eyes back down away from it.

A sequel that is less as good as the original in every single way, not as funny, not as scary, soundtrack isn't as good, it's just generally a poor mans version of the first one

Loved this film, cheesy and entertaining just like the 1st. A great horror comedy.
