Return to Sleepaway Camp
2008 Directed by Robert Hiltzik
Synopsis
Kids can be so mean.
It's summer camp as usual at Camp Manabe where the kids torment each other for fun while the underpaid camp staff provides as little supervision as possible. Greedy camp owner Frank and junior partner Ronnie do their best to keep everyone in line, but something sinister is about to put a slash in the roster. When campers and staff mysteriously begin disappearing and turning into gruesome corpses, paranoid Ronnie can't shake the memory of a series of grisly murders that took place at Camp Arawak. As the paranoia worsens, Ronnie's list of possible killers starts growing just like the body count. Only one thing is for certain, something is carving a bloody new trail at Sleepaway Camp where kids can be so mean and surviving this summer is gonna be a real killer!

Fucking abysmal.
Not even "so bad it's good".
An insult to the senses. I'm disappointed at myself for the time I've wasted watching it.
I'd rather eat a poo sandwich than watch this film ever again.

This may be the worst of the series. It was awesome to see some of the actors from the first one back, being a fan of that one. It completely ignores the 2nd and 3rd ones. Other then the returning cast this is a dull movie. The kills where the bizarre kills that any fan of this series expects. However none of the characters where likeable. Everyone was a jerk, especially to Allen who was also extremely annoying and a bit of a jerk too. The only one besides the returning good guys was the one girl who was nice to Allen. However she is barely in it. She pops up and certain moments to help him but you never…

They really lost the magic with this one. They return to the more serious tone with a few survivors of the original film returning but the end is a mess and the killer is dead obvious.

Wow this was a disappointing. If you know the original sleepaway camp, the big reveal of the killer had a clever little twist. Not about who the killer was, that was pretty obvious, its just that even though you knew who the killer was, you didnt really know who it was, hence it was clever.
This one is the same as before, nice little ways to kill the kids, and the fat kid...well to be honest, he needed to be killed and even though he was picked on, he picked on others and needed to be killed, but because he was bullied, the killer helped him out. Why? I dont know, as he was much of a bully and a…

No teenagers have ever talked like that.

This is more like a true sequel to the 1983 original, and has more of the spirit of the original than the two mediocre slapstick sequels in the 80s.
It's pretty crazy and the whole cast are thoroughly manic throughout, helping to speed things along. There's some pretty inventive death-scenes here, with the killer often improvising with whatever is around at the time, and it is pretty high on humour too. Overall, I found this a lot of fun, and I'd say it's the best of the Sleepaway Camp sequels -
