Revenge of the Pink Panther
1978 Directed by Blake Edwards
Synopsis
Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau is dead. At least that is what the world (and Charles Dreyfus) believe when a dead body is discovered in Clouseau's car after being shot off the road. Naturally, Jacques Clouseau knows differently, and taking advantage of not being alive, sets out to discover why an attempt was made on his life.

More-
The last of the actually hilarious Pink Panther sequels (there were a couple of other ropey ones before the deeply average remake), and funny from start to finish. The gags fly thick and fast.

The funniest moments in the Pink Panther films are usually not those where Clouseau falls over or breaks something expensive, but the moments right after, where he trivializes or completely ignores what just happened. Few things are more hilarious than people so desperate to be taken seriously, that they refuse to acknowledge their own flaws even when they are as obviously obvious as they can get.
Unfortunately, Revenge of the Pink Panther is more interested in objects being destroyed than character based comedy. Cars crash, people fall into cakes, walls get smashed. Very few of it is funny, because we hardly get a chance to see the character's reactions to the mayhem.
What doesn't help is all the racism. Worst…

Schwächer als die Vorgänger. Stellenweise einfach zu dumm.
