Eerily strange is this one.
This has a dirty bomb going off in LA and then it centres on one mans struggle to protect himself when people come a knocking. Even his wife.
Barring a couple of shots this film appears to be entirely filmed in one location, the main characters house.
This in my eyes is a cracking film which has gone missed by a majority of people. Definately worth a watch as there is a kicker of a twist.

Pretty decent apocalyptic drama/thriller, it reminded me a lot of 'Carriers'. I almost didn't recognize Rory Cochrane (Empire Records, Dazed & Confused) as a husband struggling to protect himself and his wife after a series of dirty bombs are set off in Los Angeles.
Made me want to stock up on plastic sheets and duct tape. -
I like the idea of a dirty bomb invasion to a degree, but even in my wildest dreams I wouldn’t have been able to imagine a film that utilises the relatively narrow premise (as intriguing as it is) to such a high octane level with so many anxiety, power and the essential feeling; claustrophobia. The ideas that Right At Your Door are not mind-bending, but it’s just that damn fine execution that leaves a mark on it and it begins to feel like something out-of-this-world. Another thing that astonishes me about the film is the pacing of it all. At the beginning, events occur so rapidly that you can hardly hold your breath and before you know it you have…

Right at Your Door is the cinematic equivalent of a dead-end Connect 4 game.
It starts out with great potential; open and thrilling, and appears to move in a variety of different directions, but soon irritating pieces begin to fill in the holes and what viewers are left with is a portrait of too many missteps.

See what you can do with a film when you have a simple yet gripping storyline, great performances from your cast and a limited budget.
Really enjoyed this film, had edge of your seat tension and kept me gripped until the end.

A very small flick depicting a dirty bomb attack on L.A. and the aftermath for a young married couple, one infected and the other not. The film builds great tension but the key points are almost rushed through as we spend endless time watching windows get taped or on unanswered cell phone calls. The cast felt very authentic – especially McCormack and Cochran who totally nail their roles. There’s a neat twist at the end that almost rescues all the time spent waiting for someone to answer the damned phone.

Nice idea for a low budget movie but overall not very satisfying. You just need a better script for this kind of intimate play to work. If your movie is entirely based on a small amount of people talking in a set location, give them something worthwhile to talk about. That said, I'd prefer "The Day After" (1983) over this any day of the week.
The twist at the end was a nice touch but seemed to belong to another and much cooler movie.

The saddest part about this movie is that it could've been so much better, the potential is there and clear to see, but it just never delivers on it. I had a lot of trouble with his decision to not let her back into the house and therefore letting her die, it seemed to me that it didn't match the character at all. And the twist in the end seemed completely pointless, it really didn't elevate it, it seemed to be there just to be there.

This exploration of serious subject matter doesn't make for a particularly entertaining movie, but it really does excel in showing what can be done with a small budget.
