This has been on my bucket list for a while and it almost killed me!
I thought this would be a guilty pleasure B-movie to make fun of but there weren't a whole lot of moments to enjoy. Even at the forty minute mark, It felt like I had been watching over an hour.
There are some absurd scenes to laugh at though, but those are few and far between.
First of all, take a look at the ridiculous monster costume. Not only is it a gorilla costume in XXX large, but apparently they lost the head to it and substituted a deep sea, diving helmet with antennas attached. Who was in that costume anyway, Tor Johnson? After five minutes…

Really bizzare '50s sci-fi featuring a gorilla wearing a diving helmet. This probably has the best synopsis I've read on Letterboxd and although the film struggles to deliver on it, it is only 60 minutes.
It reminds me of that joke that Alvy Singer tells at the start of Annie Hall: "two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of ‘em says, “Boy, the food at this place is really terrible.” The other one says, “Yeah, I know; and such small portions.”

Ro-Man from an advanced alien race has killed all of humanity except for eight who still survive. He has been given orders that there are survivors and he must eliminate them right away. So bad it's good.

Not a great MST3K episode; too much dead air, and it doesn't help that I think this is a brilliant movie, a masterpiece whether accidental or not. At least Joel acknowledges the appeal of its surreality.

It's so bad that it's good. How can you not enjoy a movie with a gorilla wearing a space helmet?

One of my favourite childhood flicks from my time. Nearly everything was perfect about it, all it needed was a sequel!
