"Tourists, occasionally."Action/horror. Expect... using the word "horror" in this review, is really hard for me. There's no gore, and very little blood. Not that I need all that, but a film about a huge mutant killer crocodile... What else am I to expect?
It reminds me a lot of Lake Placid. Just like Rogue, Lake Placid isn't scary, but still got a few limited croc-devarouring-shots every now and then.
The look of the overgrown lizard varies a lot throughout the film. Sometimes it's not CGI, other times it is. Something the CGI looks good, other times it looks kinda cheap.RADHA MITCHELL AND SAM WORTHINGTON THOUGH!

Greg McLean's "Rogue" is definitely "Jaws"-lite, but that doesn't mean it holds no charm of its own. Set in the Australian outback (beautifully captured by the film-maker's roving camera), the picture follows a group of unlucky tourists who are cornered and hunted my a monster crocodile. The cast are uneven, Radha Mitchell impresses as the guide but Michael Vartan is stiff in the guise of leading man, yet the set-pieces are suitably tense, McClean raising the stakes at a gradual and suspenseful pace. The CGI beast looks pretty formidable when onscreen, a nice surprise given that it's generally relegated to the shadows. Competently assembled fare, edited with concentrated focus. Film buffs can also spot Sam Worthington and Mia Wasikowska in roles they landed before making it big.

In some ways your typical meh disaster movie, there's something a bit more-than-the-sum-of-its-parts about it. I could have done without the cheap anti-English caricatures myself, but each to his own. The CGI worked out well, the pacing's good, the gore justified and not excessive, the suspense genuine, and the acting actually of a reasonably-high standard. If you have 90 minutes to knock about there are worse ways to spend it.

A good Aligator/creature feature with quite possibly one of the best looking CGI creatures ever. I had fun watching this although it was extremely predictable and had plenty of frustrating moments from the characters involved. But, I expect that with a horror film and especially with a creature feature. The situation and reactions were believable and i began questioning what i would do in that situation, i like to think i would make better decisions than most of the characters in this film did but, if your into survival films- this is deffinetly worth a watch!

Fun croc horror but for me the scenery was the star of the show and worth watching for that alone.

There are a lot of giant croc movies being made these days - I've seen three in the last year alone. This one is not bad, there's some good tension and the characters don't make blatantly idiotic decisions, which is a plus. Utimately though, there isn't a lot of new territory mined here and as much as I like Michael Vartan, he's just not leading man material.

Enjoyable rubbish, surprisingly tame compared to Wolf Creek

Usually the sort of film you'd find on the SyFy channel, but this is very well done and in a completely different league.
