Shanghai Knights
2003 Directed by David Dobkin
Synopsis
A Royal Kick In The Arse.
The dynamic duo of Chon Wang and Roy O'Bannon return for another crazy adventure. This time, they're in London to avenge the murder of Chon's father, but end up on an even bigger case. Chon's sister is there to do the same, but instead unearths a plot to kill the royal family. No one believes her, though, and it's up to Chon and Roy (who has romance on his mind) to prove her right.

The comedy is uninspired, but the action more than picks up the slack. The market fight, with the wonderful "Singin' in the Rain" bit, and the sword fight with Aidan Gillen are two of the best sequences Jackie ever made in the United States. The addition of Fann Wong as Chon's sister is also nice, and Tom Fisher is almost good enough to rescue his role, comedy-wise, from the movie's fascination with stupid "future famous people" coincidences.

So good girl.

This is one of those very, very rare cases of a movie that I apparently went to see in a movie theater, yet have zero recollection of whatsoever. Even if I can't remember much - if anything - about a movie, I can always remember how I saw it, and whether or not I did see it. But nope, not with this one. If it weren't for this old IMDB rating, I'd have told you I had never seen this. Odd, considering that I apparently liked it, too.

Every single thing Roy O'Bannon (Owen Wilson) says is funny.
This is my most re-watched Jackie Chan joint.

Just more of the same, only in a new setting and far less funny.

To be honest I just watched it because Aiden Gillan was the main villain.

Jackie Chan couldn't tell a joke to save his life. He could, however, kick and punch his way to survival in the coolest fashion.
