Beginning to understand why I hadn't seen these Wes Craven flicks before. Shocker was directed after Elm Street and Serpent and the Rainbow..
- Shitty heavy metal soundtrack
- The lead is that jock Peter Berg (who went on to direct Battleship)
- The killer is played by this guy
- The special effects
- It's Elm Street again, except in reverse+ Any scene with the girlfriend
+ The killer possesses the body of a little girl! -
"That was clever of you grabbing that gun and shooting me right through the fuckin' knee, you little peckerhead! "
'Shocker'?!.. you are not kidding Wes Craven!
This is like having your balls electrocuted, it burns and hurts in so many levels.

Wes Craven has to be one of the most inconsistent directors in the horror business. This one was Craven's attempt to start a new franchise over some money issues or something with the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and that is apparent in the structure of the story and characters. It was not successful and a sequel was never made. I am curious where he would have taken this over several films but to be honest, if I had seen this theatrically when it came out I would probably be hesitant to give more of my money to Craven.
There are several themes in this that make it similar to Nightmare, most notably dreams and their importance play a large…

I had seen this before probably over a decade ago so had no real memory of it. Stars Skinner from X-Files as the bad guy and the guy who directed Battleships as the star. Wes Craven wrote and directed this and the script is bat shit insane crazy and has some really awful dialogue. The film felt overly long at nearly 2 hours and is one for the poorer side of Craven's career - although worth watching just for how mental it can be.

Okay this was always one of my favorite horror films as a kid. For some reason I always thought Pinker was a black dude growing up, here to find out it's Skinner from The X-Files!!!
The whole cast is solid, and once Pinker starts body jumping a lot of random characters get to ham it up mocking the guy. Seeing little Parker swear and do that limp is a blast!
Cami Cooper may be the hottest female horror lead that never did another big movie I have ever seen.
The plot is fun and when they start TV surfing at the end, well...you gotta just go with it and you'll have some fun.

The director of BATTLESHIP fights off an electricity craving, body hopping, wisecracking ghostly serial killer named Horace Pinker after the guy destroys his family, friends, and murders his girlfriend. He fends the psycho off with a heart necklace, and the ghost of his girlfriend can shoot light out of her tits. Jumping in and out of televisions, these two battle it out in old TV shows, religious programs and Alice Cooper videos. Yep. A failed attempt at a new "Freddy Krueger-esque" franchise by Wes Craven, but it has a certain charm. One of these days, maybe, we'll get to see Craven's original version which was submitted 13 times to the MPAA to get an "R" rating.

Not a good movie by any means but man is it fun. Great metal soundtrack too.

A little more predictable than shocking.
