The whole 12-minute short is available on YouTube [ www.youtube.com/watch?v=uy0HNWto0UY ] and it is absolutely wonderful. There is not a single line of dialogue, but the movie is emotive and funny and just really well done.

An absolutely lovely short romance from the director of Red Hill, Signs sees two people working in opposite office buildings who find each other and fall for each other via a series of signs they write and draw for each other.
This really is the kind of story that the medium of short films was made for, for me. With so many shorts these days being nothing more than abridged versions of feature length films that are made in an attempt to attract attention and funding for a lengthier version, it's clear that this is not the intention with Signs. It's a story that fits beautifully in its 12 minute running time.
The two leads, Nick Russell and Kestie Morassi are delightful and cute enough not to be cloying and although the music is irritating and intrusive, this almost silent film is one of the best short films I've ever seen. Here it is:-

I was recommended this by Luke who described it as "the same story as Disney's PAPERMAN short except SIGNS pre-dates that." That's enough to get anyone interested, right?
And for all the right reasons. Signs is a lovely, live action short that sees two people working in opposite office buildings who fall for each other after communicating through a series of signs that they write for each other. Signs perfectly captures what short films are made for, as it tells a concise and thoroughly heart warming story that fills you with hope and optimism in a matter of minutes.

Holy wow. First off, this is 95% the same story as Disney's PAPERMAN short except SIGNS pre-dates that. It's a gloriously simple and heart warming Australian short ( which you can watch on YouTube here: youtu.be/uy0HNWto0UY )
I'm even more impressed thats its the same director of RED HILL (which is great by the way, go watch) and soon to be helming THE EXPENDABLES 3.

I'm pretty sure the folk that made Paperman watched this.

A bit like passing notes at school. Except less pictures of knobs.
Great little luvvy-duvvy short. Peep it on youtube, peeps.

Very similar to the Paperman short, and just as sweet, but predates it.

If you loved the Disney's The Paperman, then you are in for a treat. This short has a very similar plot. This guy, seemingly bored with his office job, finally gets a pep in his step when he notices a pretty woman who works in the building next door. They start to communicate solely through signs held up to the window.
Even though though the video quality I watched this in on YouTube was only 240p, it was really enjoyable. Very cute, and the perfect length.
I highly recommend it. -

Sylvester Stallone told me to check this out, so I did.
Glad I did it too. It's just so... NICE. -
Dear attractive women,
One of you needs to save me from my mundane life and bring me a shred of joy that movies like this one seems to imply I deserve.
Sincerely,

Supposedly similar to Paperman, which is why I watched this, I'd actually go as far to say that this is as good as, if not better than the new Disney short.
