Richard Pryor got the Godzilla (2014) treatment on 1976.
The first entry into the Wilder/Pryor series, its perhaps the most action-heavy of them all, but its certainly the least funny of them all.
Gene Wilder is given the real lead and sadly he plays it so serious that it gets kinda boring. There are some great moments (some may have not aged that well) that are truly funny, but most of it all plays as a mediocre thriller.
There are also some nice shots, like the whole discussion between Hilly and Wilder on the mirror is pretty interesting. And from a technical standpoint, there are some cool stuff here and there - but all in all its not that special. Just Hear No Evil, it seems like it overstay its welcome.
So if you are down for a good film with some humor and action, this might be a good option. Just don't expect that much.
