A trans-Pacific seaplane (destination Honolulu, Hong Kong, Shanghai) crashes in a storm, and the passengers--a senator, an heiress, a matron, a steward, a guy with a case full of cash, a brassy blonde, a Red Cross nurse, a couple of businessmen; I think that's everybody--are stranded on a desert island.
They come across a mysterious man, who lives alone with his Asian manservant.
