Synopsis
High Fidelity with a northern accent
Over the last five years an independent record shop has closed in the UK every three days. SOUND IT OUT is a documentary portrait of the very last surviving vinyl record shop in Teesside, North East England. A cultural haven in one of the most deprived areas in the UK, SOUND IT OUT documents a place that is thriving against the odds and the local community that keeps it alive. Directed by Jeanie Finlay who grew up three miles from the shop. A distinctive, funny and intimate film about men, the North and the irreplaceable role music plays in our lives. High Fidelity with a Northern Accent.

Gentle documentary about an independent record store and their strange but loveable customers.
Sound it Out made me feel nostalgic for a pastime that I never really took part in. Not many documentary directors have that the ability to do that, and Jeanie Finlay must be given massive credit for that.

Nice little doc about the last indie record shop in Teeside and the kooky music geeks that spend their time and money inside it. Warning: includes a Status Quo fan.
-
Super documentary about the last remaining independent record shop in the North East of England. You can tell it's the North East as they still stock Bass Generator mixtape packs.
A must see for music fans, especially vinyl lovers.

Lovely doc about the last vinyl shop in teeside. Works a treat when focusing on the different characters that visit the shop. The obsessive Quo fan, the daft old alky and his wife and the heavy metal kid who looks like Ant McPartlin.

Fantastic portrait of a shop and town.

A great little documentary about the only remaining record shop in Teesside. The customers are the highlights but the shop in itself looks a mecca of a time gone by that makes me wish I ran my own record shop.

Wow,what a gem of a documentary. I used to work in a record shop, so this really brought it home to me how much the industry has changed over the year. This independent shop has some great stories to tell, but the best were the customers. Truely wonderful!

Great documentary about a record shop in the North East of England. Took me back to my youth........albeit in the Midlands! Came out of the digital cinema yearning for a bit of analogue.
