Childhood favorite of mine.
I hear they wanna make a sequel starring Lebron James.
I'm ok with that...on three conditions.1. More Looney Toons, less people.
If I really wanted to see real people in a Looney Toons film, I'd watch a documentary.2. No Bunny Boobies
If you've seen that Nostalgia Critic episode, you know what I mean. I don't condone of sexualizing bunnies or cartoons but if that's your thing (nasty motherfucker...) keep it to yourself.3. More Bill Fucking Murray
Just because he's Bill Fucking Murray. -
Hailed by critics across the world as the greatest movie in the universe, Space Jam shows what can happen when a good director, a good budget and good actors come together. Starring Michael Jordan as Michael Jordan, Bill Murray as Bill Murray and Bugs Bunny as himself you can be sure you're in for a fun filled adventure when you get down and jam.
Bill Murray was unlucky not to win a best supporting actor award as he comes in just as Michael needs him and really adds his charisma and overall charm to an already great movie. -
I can't possibly evaluate an experience that transcends film with your petty star system so I'll just say this...
One of the crowning achievements of my existence was seeing Space Jam in the theater.

The #1 movie of all time that changed cinema forever.

Today I had to watch this as part of my Film Art class (it was put up to a vote).
The movie is filled with dated animation, sickening close-ups, and constant product placement. I understand it's a kids movie, but JEEZ do they have to overemphasize every plot development with upwards of 3 reaction shots. The Looney Tunes don't do anything they haven't been drawn to perform in a more amusing way in their shorts, and Michael Jordan is as bland as unseasoned tofu.
Don't even get me started on the racial implications (the white guys are dopey, the 'evil villain' wants to ENSLAVE the Looney Tunes and later MJ).

Hey, you, what you gonna do?
Hey, you, what you gonna do?
Party people in the house, let's go
It's your boy Jayski all right so
Pass that thing and watch me flex
Behind my back, you know what's next
To the jam, all in your face
What's up, just feel the bass
Drop it, rock it, down the room
Shake it, quake it, space KABOOM!
Just work that body, work that body
Make sure you don't hurt nobody
Get wild and lose your mind
Take this thing into overtime
Hey DJ, turn it up!
QCD, going to burn it up
Come on, y'all, get on the floor -

Ok, so Space Jam is a bad movie. Totally unrealistic as well, Michael Jordan was way too busy sleeping with every woman within a 500 mile radius to save a bunch of toons. Also, the monsters are like 40 feet tall. I still don't quite understand what defensive schemes the Toon Squad adjusted at half time to be able to totally shut down the Mon-Stars dynamic offensive attack.
I was watching this with my kid, and she friggin loves it, and it made me feel old and sad when I had to explain who every basketball player was in it, including MJ himself. I told her the story of when I met him and shook his hand, and she was…

After a crazy week in Boston, this is what my friends and I choose to watch.
And it was awesome.
