Synopsis
An alien woman is running from a deadly enemy and tries to hide on Earth where she meets a young mechanic, who helps her to get back home and to fight for the freedom of her people.

I had already seen the similarities in the story between this and Splash but the fact that later in the movie, a character even says something about Mary (the alien) possibly wanting to take a bath "because of that mermaid movie on TV, what's it called...'Splash!'" was absolute overkill.

Don't trust the poster art here, it's not nearly as 80's-licious as it looks. Who came up with this garbage? This woman traveled galaxies / solar systems and, as she describes it, "a long way" to kiss a man (though, it's James Spader- I get the temptation) and talk to Earthlings about heaven (hardly freaking relevant to anything right now, sorry, unless this is a primer for when those 2 goons following her possibly make him a stain on the ground)? This is only after she eats chili and watches television, waiting 'til the end to decide it's really important to teach us about her planet's advances in curing diseases and growing plants. Why? It's like Date with an Angel meets Starman. Spader is the best thing about it.
