I would rather recieve a sex change, get inseminated, and have a 2nd trimester abortion than watch this absolutely sickening movie again. Everything, and I mean everything, that made the original Starship Troopers a classic was sucked out of this movie. A lifeless corpse of a film is all that remains. Any sort of established history and lore is stomped on. The purposefully B characters of the original are gone and have been replaced by characters who are so abysmally bad every single one of them could have been replaced with cardboard cutouts and I would have not even noticed. The ironic subtleties concerning fascism and war don't even exist. Even the most important part that could have saved this…

I can't believe this was made by the same guy who was given the prestigious role of "Dinosaur Supervisor" in Jurassic Park.
Starship Troopers 2 is written like someone who had seen the original film once as a kid and then subsequently forgotten about most of it, but decided they were going to do a sequel anyway.
"Oh yeah you know that bit at the start with the recruitment videos? We should totally do something like that."
"Yeah, sounds good. Problem: we don't have any money to actually make half as many aliens as were in the original though."
"We'll just pinch footage from that then. And then, like, I dunno. Soldiers.. and.. er... a parasite thing... and they start…

This is crime against humanity and especially against cinema! Don't ever, ever watch this! Awful, it's so bad that it makes me sick. It's not even enjoyable as garbage!

It's not hard to see why people were dissatisfied with this sequel. Verhoeven's original was huge in scope and story; a darkly humorous adventure that followed a likable group of fresh-faced recruits from their training to their desensitization as soldiers through space and planetside.
This sequel scales back and takes us through a single conflict in an isolated outpost, and requires you to leave your expectations at the door. I think this was well made considering the small budget ($7M). In many ways, this is a film which bears far more resemblance to NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD or ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 than its own predecessor. My take - is that really such a bad thing?

Boring as a 'soldiers under siege' low-budget sequel but fun as SciFi/Horror trash. 5/10.

Um dos piores filmes que eu já vi na vida.
Contudo, o primeiro filme vale a pena assistir. -

I don't know if I should be ashamed or not, but Starship Troopers 2 wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It definitely reeks of being a low budget made-for-Syfy film, but the played up horror qualities along with the lovely naked Kelly Carlson (drool...) made me enjoy this flick a lot more than I should.

This is not the sequel we all wanted as fans of the original Verhoeven classic (my words anyway). This is more likely a parallel film in the same universe as the original and thankfully it does not do the same thing as the original and tries to be its own film. It follows completely new characters and tries to tie in some tension from the Thing but fails in this but still it is an interesting enough film. Think of it as a space action adventure with man against bugs and you will have a good time. I certainly enjoyed it and did very much not associate it with the original or the book and it was fun enough, it is certainly not a good film though.

Really deserving of the number 2 in the toiletry sense of the word. Bought this in a double pack with the original for the same price as the single disc so technically it didn't cost me anything. Why do I still feel as if I've been overcharged!!
