Stone is a nonsense Ozploitation biker flick with some truly atrocious, cringeworthingly dated dialogue and poor wooden acting, the latter principally from the utterly blank Ken Shorter in the titular role.
Stone is a cop who pledges to help local biker gang The Gravediggers to find out who is bumping off their crew off one by one. Weirdly the gang seem to have little issue with a policeman riding with them! Yes the plot is absolutely absurd but its the brainchild of writer and director Sandy Harbutt who also appears in the movie as the chapter's president, so its easy to pinpoint the blame. Nicely made Australian biker film hit theatres several years after the trend had pretty much died out in Hollywood, but ably captures some of the spirit of those films as an undercover cop joins a bike gang to find out who has been assassinating members. The plot is mostly silly, and is often forgotten about as the film concentrates on depicting the lifestyle of the gang. While far from the best biker movie I’ve seen, it’s certainly passable—suitably directed, with all the expected grit and sleaze.

Bloody and violent Ozploitation biker cult film. Pretty shocking stuff back in the day, but the wooden acting and nonexistent production values make it little more than a curiosity now.

Saw a late night repertory screening of this and can hardly remember anything about it, but do remember having a great time.

Oz-sploitation countercultural motorcycle flick. Had fun with it, but it felt a little more hippie culture and a little less exploitation than I had hoped.
