I remember really liking the film when it was originally released for three reasons: I was a big Street Fighter fan, it had swearing and you saw Chun-Li’s breasts. As a 12-year old there isn’t much more you need but 18 years later the film’s obvious failings are harder to ignore. The story is complete rubbish with a stupid, and largely redundant, plot that gets in the way of the fighting.
The English voice acting is as bad as I remember but the animation isn’t half as impressive as I thought it was originally. Thankfully the action is still pretty entertaining with several stand out sequences (the Vega and Chun-Li brawl in particularly) still holding up well. As a videogame adaptation goes it is one of the better examples out there but as a film in its own right it really isn’t anything special. It gets a bonus star for nostalgic value.

I've been a SF fan and have seen this film plenty of times.
However, it's been a few years since I saw it last. Having watched it again I can say I still enjoyed it as much as always. The story has always been a weak one so nothing new there. The animation isn't great either and again I never thought it to be so the film hasn't become less enjoyable for me. What Street Fighter II is and always has been about is the fantastic characters. I always played as Ken and his part in the story should've been bigger, but at least this movie focuses on the relationship between Ken and Ryu (unlike some wanna-be SF movie starring JvC). I'm sure this will not have been the last time I watched the Animated Movie.

When a friend of mine put this on, I was sceptic. I love the games but the Van Damme-movie really sucked. He promised me this one was way better - and it was.
The story is better (central characters as Ryu and Ken were only mentioned in the Van-Damme movie) and the animation true to the game. Enjoyable.

One of my out and out favourite films. Not only is it faithful to what little story there was to the games, but it also helped to shape them from that point on. The monitor cyborg plot is daft as all hell, but it's still more believable than Van Damme's live action romp.

The Chun-Li and Vega scene is still my favourite animated scene. This is what the live action movie should have been.
