Fuck every single person who says this isn't a good film. You fucking cunts, HAVE YOU EYES? HAVE YOU EARS? I got into serious shit at my job when I was sixteen for calling in PREGNANT to stay home and watch Superman III AND I WOULD FUCKING DO IT AGAIN.
Okay, lets look at this. Firstly, HOLY SHIT, CLARK KENT AND SUPERMAN ARE HAVING A FUCKING FIGHT. AN ACTUAL FUCKING FIGHT, AND IT'S SCARY AS FUCK.
Secondly, this film is funny as all hell. AND THAT'S NOT A BAD THING. IT'S NOT A FUCKING SIN TO HAVE A SUPERHERO FILM THAT IS FUNNY, SLAPSTICK EVEN. SUPERMAN MOVES THE TOWER OF PIZA, HE BLOWS OUT THE OLYMPIC TORCH! IT. HAS. RICHARD.…

Richard Pryor: The Movie featuring Superman

I'm suddenly very worried about Superman 4.

This review reportedly contains spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Compared to the first two entries in the series, this feels far inferior. Yet it is not a bad film. There are plenty of things to be entertained by, from Pryor's likable computer hacking minor criminal to Superman's dual-personality fight in the middle of the film.
A number of things happened to create the circumstances for a lesser sequel this time around. Due to the bad feelings some cast members felt toward producers Ilya and Alexander Salkind for firing Richard Donner from "Superman II," casting was shifted around. Therefore, we get no Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) and virtually no Lois Lane (Margot Kidder). Because the Lois Lane/Superman love story had evolved so much in the previous film, it is disappointing…

Somehow by combining 60s and 80s camp, Richard Lester made the best movie in the Superman series. I am not sure if this is technically the best Superman movie in the series, but taking into account all aspects of film making, this is definitely the best movie in the series. I hope that your getting my drift.
I don't really feel that capable of accurately summing up just how great the film making on display here is, simply because this was a first time watch for me. There is so much going on, and every scene is so visually sumptuous, that I know I missed a fair bit of stuff. All I know is that Richard Lester knows how to direct a film.

This movie is without a doubt one to be rewatched and rewatched and rewatched. It's funny, accessible, charming and very well paced. Its goofy tone fits perfectly within the story and characters, fully embracing its comic book roots. Christopher Reeve gives a nuanced performance, displaying a more complex character, one that mixes not only the everyday Clark Kent with the confident hero Superman, but also the more corrupt side of his nature. The slapstick opening credits scene is a tad too much and the villains are a bit uninteresting but other than that it was highly enjoyable.

So stinky.

This film should be sued under the trade description act. A film that has the bare minimum of Superman. At least Reeve is still solid in it.

Barely qualifies as a Superman movie. It was more like a slapstick comedy that Superman happened to be in.
-
not sure if this was a Richard Pryor movie or the third superman movie.
one thing about this that was actually good was Christopher reeve's performance as evil superman. especially the junkyard fight with clark kent

Superman III has some fun & goofy moments but it suffers from a boring plot, boring characters, and in the end i fell like not a lot happens in the film.

I'm not a huge Superman fan at all but I do really enjoy the first two films and because of that I went into Superman III with an open mind. Well, now that I've seen it I can honestly say that this is one of the worst superhero movies and overall one of the worst films I have ever seen. To me everything was just done so poorly and so many things just annoyed the living hell out of me. One of my biggest problems with the film was the story. The first two films both had pretty good stories but I just did not get into Superman III's story at all. I just thought everything about the story was…
