If ever there was a film with a fantastic premise and an astoundingly bad execution, it's this one. Films like this need more than an idea, actors who go through the motions and a generic plot.
The two stars are for the visuals, which I quite liked. As for the rest, this film is completely redundant.

Tired and predictable, an amalgam of movies you've seen before and, criminally, doesn't add a jot of originality to any of it. Willis does well to keep a straight face whilst wearing some ridiculous makeup. Ros Pike deserves better. I expected more from the director that gave us the great crane chase and fantastically dour ending of Terminator 3: Rise of the Maccsssssshhhhhheeeeeines, having had less room to work.

It's like expecting a John Grisham and getting a Wilbur Smith; both shit outcomes.

This film makes me angry. It should have been so much better.
It's a fucking wonderful concept.
But it is still slightly less smelly than the other brown turds.

Jonathan Mostow has a distinctly dodgy track record for me. The man who almost wrecked the Terminator franchise and his quite literally offensive U-571 should be condemned to dvd oblivion.
Surrogates is a movie with another exciting and original concept that just gets more ludicrous by the minute. The premise of "Surrogates",a humanoid remote control device which allows the user to control their lives using robotics is an interesting idea. James Cromwell pops up as the Surrogates inventor, you might have thought he'd have had enough of robots after that Will Smith starring rubbish.
Bruce Willis certainly looks better than his robotic self, but Rosamund Pike should consider keeping hers as a "barbie" sex-bot. -
Plodding Sci-fi that borrows from too many films to attempt to name them all.
Could have been good but sadly only reaches the dizzy heights of being bloody average, and without the presence of Willis would have been bloody awful.
Not the worst you'll see but nowhere near as good as the movies its stolen ideas from.
Suggest you look elsewhere unless your a Die Hard Bruce Willis fan. (sorry for the poor pun, couldn't resist it)

There is a glimmer of something here, what could have been an awesome sci-fi movie, but the execution is so bad, even laughable at times, that this movie really doesn't amount to anything.

I love the concept of this. Seriously, it's like that game Second Life but in real life. Cool but much like the other really fucking cool concept sci-fi film I saw recently, In Time, the execution of it is pretty shoddy. The plot is dull and I saw the twist coming a mile off.
I do genuinely like movies like this, near future sci-fi? Rad. But it's just dull. No-one gives a particularly interesting performance, it looks and feels pretty cheap and the plot is really boring.
A missed opportunity.

Interesting premise turns into a decent, if kinda run-of-the-mill sci-fi flick.
-
Very good SF thriller with some intense dramatic scenes worth everybody's attention.

Eh. Very predictable, especially considering there are scenes from the ending in the trailers. Idiots. But really, you can predict the ending of this film 5 minutes into it. However, for those that say the acting was awful, its probably because they were told to act like emotionless robots.
