Plot revolves around yet another "Lost City" There must be a couple hundred of them throughout Africa. Some great matte painting work adds to the exotic locale. After a two film absence Jane returns! Not played by Maureen O'Sullivan however. She has been replaced by the amazingly mediocre Brenda Joyce who continues the negative trend of wearing too much clothing for a Jungle Woman. Another unfortunate change in the series is that Tarzan's home apparently is no longer on the mysterious and secluded Great Escarpment. Instead it's a simple raft ride down the river from a trading post run by everyone's favorite scheming bastard... Barton MacLane!

Darker than average Tarzan adventure with the threat of Boy being sacrificed to the Sun God, the slaughter of several Amazons and the entire band of white explorers (including the most villainous one and a compatriot drowning in a mud pit while Tarzan just stands there watching), and most troubling of all a serious squabble between Tarzan and Boy. But on the bright side, Jane's back (and looking pretty different, war really is hell), and Tarzan kills a crocodile! Looks like things are finally getting back to normal around here.
