I love this film, but not because it's good. The production value leaves a lot to be desired, the cinematography is just awful, the secondary characters are poorly portrayed through terrible characterization and acting... but for some reason, this film has a LOT of heart, which is basically the highest compliment I can give to a film.
There is something about Thayer Mangeres that gets under your skin and stays there for days and weeks after you watch it. I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but if you like indie films with an air of mystery that seem to have little point, you might like this one. It's based on an obscure true story about the disappearance of an entire family, but on the surface it looks like an angsty teen romance film.
This needs to be remade, because the story has so much potential.
