Mildly amusing indie comedy with a few light laughs, but far too reliant on the usual tropes to be considered original.

Depressing and slow but a pretty good story. Also, Creed Bratton.

Felt forced and contrived in many parts, with a score of nice but ill fitting music, which came off as manipulative in the context of the film. Wonderful performances by Riley and Wysocki can't lift the sorry script beyond its annoyingly naval-gazing roots.
Also commits one of the worst cinematic sins, not enough Heidecker. -
"Sad weird kid meets sad weird teacher" might need to start its own canon. This one goes from quirky to creepy very suddenly. Mr. Prezbo would have taken this kid shopping.

Most movie fans know that Hollywood has been lacking in originally for years now. If you want to see something new, you really have go to see some independent films like this movie, Terri. This is a film that has a lot going for it and is yet another film that really deserves more attention.
Terri is centered around the character named Terri (Jacob Wysocki) who is a loner in school and has an uncle for a guardian who can't…

As aimless as its titular hero. Does have its heart in the right place, but is obviously confused about what to aim for, never develops the confidence to take its characters anywhere. It circles above the same themes and plot fragments for too long, without ever tackling any of them. Too afraid to commit to anything, be it drama, conflict or simply more detail about its characters; it beats around the narrative bush forever, and then isn't forceful enough when…

Not bad, but not the type of movie I would watch more than once.

John C. Reilly is great and his relationship with Terri is interesting... but there really is nothing else here. No plot, no climax. Heather's alienation is ridiculous at the very least and seems like a cheap way to get her interested in Terri. Only watch it if you're a fan of John C. Reilly's more "serious" (and I use serious very lightly) work.

Very well made low key drama with excellent performances about an oversized school kid who strikes up a friendship with his head teacher and a couple of socialy outcasted teenagers whilst looking after his ailing Uncle

About as definitive an answer to 'high school' there could be, I think.

This movie was a very simple look into a young mans life which most people would glance over. He's not anything special to look at and really, from what it seems, to talk to. However he has a big heart and mountains of character and its portrayed very well in this movie. The relationship built between John C. Riley and Terri (Jacob Wysocki) is very believable and quite engulfing as it roller coasters up and down. It does get pretty…

The acting across the board is tremendous. The dialogue is authentic, the story strong enough, and the characters are interesting without becoming stereotypes. The first act of the film may test the patience, as it takes its time introducing the characters, but the reward is there for those who wait.
