This is Joss Whedon's masterpiece.
The movie that changed the game and validated the idea of a cinematic universe. There's nothing better.
Nerd DJ Joss Whedon channels the essence of classic 1960s Marvel into a modern blockbuster remix of spectacle, humor, and the childlike wonder that capture our imaginations as children.
The plot is simple and heavy on the MacGuffins, playing fast and loose with a villain plan that's honestly baffling when you realize that Loki actually thought uniting his greatest enemies would work AT ALL. But what does work, and works so well that I'll give it my highest rating despite…

Marvel Cinematic Universe: World Building 101
How does this tie in with the rest of the MCU?
A sequel to five movies from four different franchises that were tied together almost loosely, The Avengers was a difficult feat managed seamlessly. It smoothly cuts together scenes of the key players being assembled after Loki arrives on Earth once…
A superhero epic that's a refreshing alternative to the darker tones of DC's efforts in recent years and it serves as a triumph to Marvel's planned out Cinematic Universe. Joss Whedon, in essentially his directorial debut for a movie of this size, demonstrates a surprising amount of confidence in not only successfully balancing a large ensemble cast of characters but also staging huge and terrific set pieces. It's witty, funny and memorable for all the right reasons with particular standouts…
Is there anything left to say? This epic culmination of this unique cinematic universe payed off like no other. Not only was this two and a half hours of pure nerdgasm, but it was actually a really well made film that had many character driven moments that were full of wonderfully written dialogue by Whedon. This is an epic cinematic event that can be rivaled by none other.

The Road to Civil War Part Three:
There are only a few perfect comicbook films in the world so far.
This is one of them.
Also the special effects in this are the best we have seen so far in the MCU. How does this film still have the best rendered versions of The Hulk and Iron Man?
Film #21 of my April 2016 Challenge
Task #10: An MCU movie (#6)
Thank you, Joss Whedon, for not allowing this movie to suck. This could have been another Transformers where the spectacle takes over the so-called compelling storytelling. And while The Avengers does not hit the compelling grit of Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, that's not what Marvel is going for. They have given us build-up to some of the characters they had introduced so well in the past…
Dude this is a dream come true for me.
Everyone knows that The Avengers is my favorite film. Being a big Marvel comic fan like I am. Seeing this team together finally on the big screen. We have never seen before and pay off like it did. Proves something.
Joss Whedon is fantastic in his direction in this movie.
The performances from everyone is great. They are all fleshed out as characters in this movie in the first hour works.…
Big, colourful and very entertaining. Joss Whedon marshals a huge and potentially ungainly project and plays it beautifully. Everyone gets a chance to shine.
The Avengers is still undeniably my favorite Marvel picture of all time.
