Marvel sets out to do what no one has dared or even thought to do before, and not only do they do so, but they ace the s***! This film is absolute, grade A superhero action/comedy as best as it can be. The huge lead up from the supporting films does not disappoint in any way and only sets up a bigger and brighter future for what's in store. Without a doubt one of the best superhero film's in history amongst the Dark Knight and Iron Man.

The Avengers. That's what we call ourselves, we're sort of like a team. "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" type thing.

Still the best out of the Marvel movies by far, very tightly written. Strikes a really good balance with the comedic beats. The helicarrier scene is still awesome and the forest fight between Thor and Iron Man is also cool. A fun old time

Everyone knows the drill with this one by now surely? 4 years after Marvel Studios launched little known character Iron Man into his own movie, this, the culmination of their 'phase 1' plans, becomes one of the biggest box office hits of all time. Despite selling off many of their most popular heroes, Marvel's plans to create a massive shared film universe in the same way they've been doing with their comic books for 50 odd years reaped massive rewards.…

So much hype leading up to "The Avengers" and it was really worth it. I am a huge fan of Marvel movies (with a few exceptions) and Joss Whedon's work. I saw "Serenity" recently and it was amazing, but not as good as this. "The Avengers" works because it doesn't need to rely on action and effects to keep it going. It relies on character development and this film succeeds in that department. When we see these characters interact, they…

Personalmente, creo que está infravalorada. No entiendo que alguien le pueda poner menos de 5 estrellitas.

Marvel's The Avengers is heavy on development, heavy on action, and heavy on fun, making for spectacularly good entertainment, an incredibly enjoyable summer blockbuster, and arguably one of the best superhero films of all time.

When an alien force threatens Earth, it is up to the world's mightiest heroes to unite.

The first entry in The Avengers franchise, and the result is a fantastically enjoyable romp. The incredibly well crafted plot takes all the elements set up in the individual franchise movies that proceed it and then adds it's own mix action and humour to produce a story that is pure comic-book magic. The production values are as stunning as one would imagine and Joss…

Got sucked into watching this. Still a pacy romp, but it's interesting to see how things become normalised over time, where before it seemed so groundbreaking to have a 3+ film build-up to an end-of-Phase extravaganza, now it seems so easy to do. But it plainly isn't. There's still a huge amount of structural storytelling going on here and there isn't a duff moment save *perhaps* for the uninteresting stuff Iron Man and Cap do during the assault on the…
